How job search & matching works

Forte ranks live postings from real companies against your resume, so you can see your best-fit roles first, or browse the full catalog on your own.

Where postings come from

Forte ingests job postings daily, straight from participating companies' own public career-site APIs (Greenhouse and Lever). It is not a licensed job board like Indeed or LinkedIn — every listing traces back to the employer's own career page, and postings that go stale or come down are automatically removed from the catalog.

How matching works

Pick a resume and Forte ranks live postings against it using AI similarity matching, so your best-fit roles surface first. Each posting is also AI-enriched with seniority, salary range, and skills so you can filter by what matters. Prefer to explore without ranking? Switch to Browse mode to search and filter the full catalog with no resume required.

Applying happens on the employer's site

Clicking Apply opens the company's own original application page in a new tab. Forte never submits an application on your behalf and has no way to confirm one was completed. Marking a posting "Applied" in Forte is a personal bookmark for your own tracking, not proof of a submitted application.

One click to tailor for a role

"Tailor for this job" pre-fills the posting's description into Forte's tailoring pipeline so you can generate a resume and cover letter for it immediately. That generation step spends a normal credit, the same as any other tailored application. Browsing, matching, filtering, and applying cost nothing extra — they're unlimited and included with Pro.

Questions you might have

Is this a real job application?+
No. Forte surfaces the listing and, when you click Apply, opens the employer's own original application page in a new tab. You complete the application there, on the company's site. Forte does not submit anything on your behalf and has no way to know whether you finished it.
Where do job postings come from?+
Directly from participating companies' own public Greenhouse and Lever career-site APIs, refreshed daily. Forte is not a licensed job board and doesn't aggregate from Indeed, LinkedIn, or similar services.
Does Forte send my resume to Greenhouse, Lever, or the employer?+
No. Your resume is never sent to Greenhouse, Lever, or any employer's applicant tracking system. To power matching, your resume text is sent to OpenAI to generate an embedding, the same provider Forte already uses for tailoring, and nothing else.
Does job search cost credits?+
No. Browsing, matching, filtering, and applying are all unlimited and included with Pro at no extra cost. The only step that spends a credit is generating a tailored resume or cover letter via "Tailor for this job," the same as tailoring from anywhere else in Forte.
How fresh are the postings?+
The catalog refreshes daily. Postings that a company's career page no longer lists are automatically deactivated so you don't waste time on roles that have already closed.
Is job search included in every plan?+
Job search and matching is a Pro feature. Free accounts see a preview of what it looks like with an upgrade prompt; upgrading to Pro unlocks the real, live catalog and matching against your resumes.
